 Learning around school

Another week of excellent learning in school. Year 4, 5 and 6 have all been learning about bullying, how to stop it and what it means. They have talked about the difference between being mean, rude or bullying and they have all signed our pledge to prevent bullying. Year 1,2 and 3 will also be doing this in the next couple of weeks. Children in Reception have been looking at the world around them and year 1 have looked at number sequences. Year 2 have had a fantastic trip to the Thackray Museum to learn more about their topic on Florence nightingale. After weeks of disrupted learning it is fantastic to see all children in school focussed and learning.

Good Luck Miss Mullarkey

Our attendance officer Mullarkey is starting her maternity leave today. We want to wish her all the best and an enjoyable maternity leave. In her absence Miss Chippendale will be supporting families with their attendance, some of you may know her from her current role in Nursery.

Sports Days

Due to Covid, sports days this year will take place in school but without parent spectators to ensure that bubbles are maintained. We know that this may be disappointing to parents but we need to ensure that we keep to the governments guidance on social distancing and not exceeding groups of 30 outside.

Attendance Rewards

Our attendance reward for this term has now begun. 7 children across the school who had a full week of attendance were picked in the prize draw and have now received their prize. All children who have 100% attendance by the end of the term will be entered into a further prize draw with a chance to win their very own bike.

Face Masks on the Playground

Leeds COVID cases are rising sharply and especially amongst younger age groups who have not been vaccinated. Adults should wear facemasks when collecting from the playground  to help us to keep our community safe.

Collection Times

Please stick to your child’s start and finish time. Now the weather is warmer, many parents are attending school earlier than necessary to collect their children and dropping pupils off too early.  This is not helping to keep social distance in the playground. Without these measures, we are putting more adults and children at risk which could lead to more cases in school and bubble closures.
