Correct contact details
We have sent letters this week to all parents for whom we do not have an email address. Can you please update this and send it back to school? It is really important that we have this information as this is a really important way for us to communicate with all parents and carers.
Parents Evening
Thank you to everyone who attended the parents' evening this week. It was great to see so many parents and carers in the hall. The turnout was brilliant, and we are very proud of the children's progress so far this year.
Welcome back
We have had an excellent start to the new half-term. As the weather is turning cold, we try to get the children outside at break and lunchtime as much as possible. Please can you make sure the children are in coats.
A place to..... Be spooktacular.
Please join us for a family event on Thursday, 2nd November, from 11:00 – 14:00 at Nowell’s Community Centre. We would love everyone to have the opportunity to join us in some fun-filled, spooky thrills, crafts, activities and a free raffle. Lunch, snack treats and prizes will be on offer. All is free; no need to book.
We look forward to seeing you there. Please look at the attached leaflet for more details.
English Hub visit
We had a visit from a phonics expert from the local English Hub this week. She watched all the phonics sessions and listened to individual children reading their books. She was impressed with all the children, how focused they were in their lessons and how quickly they were learning to read in Reception and Year 1. We were so proud of showing our visitors how amazing the children at Co-op Academy Brownhill are, and once again, they showed themselves off brilliantly.
Card Payments
We are pleased to say the school office can now accept card payments. This will be for all payments: dinner money, school trips and residentials.
Nasal Flu Vaccination
You will receive an email with an online consent form for the annual nasal flu vaccinations. These will be taking place in school on Monday 23rd October. Please be aware that you must fill in the form to agree to the vaccination or refuse the vaccination.
Year 3 Benchball success
This week, we competed in a Benchball competition with other Co-op schools at Co-op Academy Leeds. Brownhill was triumphant and walked away with the gold medal. Well done, Year 3.
Bikes and Scooters in the playground
Please can we remind you that bikes and scooters should not be ridden in the playground. It is very busy at the end of the day, and we don’t want anyone getting hurt.
Coming soon…
Over the summer we had our lovely new library built. We are in the process of putting all the books into the library and will soon be inviting parents and carers to come and see them. Please watch out for more information in the coming weeks.
Welcome back
It has been great to have all the children back in school this week, the atmosphere around school has been exceptional. Most children are in the playground in their lines each morning ready to start their learning. Most children are in smart uniforms which is great to see. A warm welcome to all our new Nursery and Reception children and parents who are new to Brownhill. It has been wonderful seeing their smiling faces coming each morning.
