We took part in the Schools Yorkshire Tour

Today the whole school turned out to support our riders taking part in the Schools Yorkshire Tour with Safer Roads Leeds.

Nine of our Year 6s got on their bikes to join the relay race to Leeds Civic Hall, where they handed the golden baton to the Lord Mayor of Leeds.

The tour has gone through 12 local authority areas, including North Yorkshire, East Riding, York, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Kirklees, Bradford and Calderdale before it arrived in Leeds. 162 schools have taken part and covered 400 miles.

We were the final school for the baton to visit, being joined by other Leeds schools before setting off to Millennium Square where the Lord Mayor and Sir Gary Verity was waiting.

It was an amazing day, and we are so proud of the students for managing to cycle all that way. We are also so proud of our students who came out to support everyone, giving them a big Brownhill welcome.

You can see all the photos from the day here.

And you can see a video of the students here.
