School will close for most children from Friday 20th March.
The government announced that they expect all schools across the UK to close to most pupils Friday 19.03.2020 until further notice.
We will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, and others in frontline services) and children with certain needs.
We are waiting for the government to publish more information on what this means, but it would help us in the meantime if you could let us know if,
- you are the sole carer and you think you are a key worker or,
- that all carers in your household are key workers
If you are a key worker and will need your child/ren to continue to attend school, please can you email on
email@example.com by 10am – Friday 20th March 2020 to tell us:
- your child’s name, year group
- your name and job title
- your employer
- which days you will need your child/ren to be in school.
We will then contact you as soon as possible to let you know of the arrangements if your child/ren will be eligible to come to school.
As you will be aware, the situation is changing on a daily basis and this arrangement for key workers’ children is being put in place to respond to this exceptional situation. Many of our staff are self-isolating or fall within a vulnerable group, therefore our numbers are greatly reduced. It is vital that requests are only made from parents and carers who are key workers.
The learning of all your children is important to us, so we’ll continue to help your child to learn from home so as well as your learning packs, please keep checking the school website and using our online platform Purple Mash or for Year 6 pupils google classroom.
Thank you again for your continued support, and we will be in touch with more information when we can.
