Winter Wonderland

This week the children have been visiting our very own winter wonderland located in the school gardens. It truly is a magical place and has helped to spread the Christmas cheer at Brownhill. We have to say a huge thank you to Mr Inge and his helpers Mr Weetman and Mr Smith for all their hard work in making this such a magical place. Visit our website (in stories) or Twitter account to see.

#Do what matters most.

Christmas Cards

any schools have banned the giving of Christmas cards this year to avoid any potential spread of COVID from one household to another. We understand the importance of giving cards to one another and have decided to allow the giving of cards between children in the same class. All Cards must be brought to school by Friday 11th December. They will be safely and securely stored in a box in class for 72 hours and then they can be safely given will given to children by staff during the last week of term.

Free School meals

We have teamed up with Leeds City Council to ensure that all families who normally receive free school meals will continue to be supported over the Christmas holidays. Each family will receive a food hamper and these will be delivered to your house. In order to achieve this we must first seek your permission to share your house address with the council to arrange delivery. You should have received a text which you must reply to to ensure you do not miss out on this support. If you believe that you are entitled to free school meals but have not received a text please contact the school office.

Christmas Attendance Trolley

Every child with 100% attendance this week will get to choose an item from the christmas attendance trolley. Your child must be also be in school on time to gain their award. For those children isolating they can also visit the trolley, when they return, if they manage to complete home learning everyday.

Photo and video permission

In order that we have the correct permissions for videos use before we film the Christmas performances please ensure you have completed the on-line photo permission form.

Thank you

Virtual Pantomime

Instead of Christmas parties (socially distanced games are not so much fun!) this year we have signed up to take part in a virtual pantomime on Wednesday 16th December. Children can come dressed as their favourite panto character or in their favourite Christmas outfit. We will try to recreate the real experiences with drinks and popcorn for all the children.

Trussel Food Bank

Thank you so much for all your kind donations so far. The last date for donations is Friday 11th December.
