Attendance

Children who come to school every day are 5 times more likely to work at, or above, the expected standard.

Why is it important to come to school every day?

Coming to school every day allows your child to get the best possible education. Children who come to school every day are also happier in lessons, have better friends and feel more confident. We want to help your child get the best experience they can at our academy.

We’ll work with you, to help your child attend as much as we can. We’ve got a great attendance and family support team, so please get in touch if you’re having difficulties.

To encourage and celebrate our children for their great attendance we have regular fun days and other rewards. These include bouncy castles, multi-sports day and the always popular rewards shop where students can swap attendance points for items they want.

What is an Unauthorised Absence?

As an academy, we must follow national legal guidelines which means that holiday requests during term-time cannot be authorised. Absences, (such as holidays during term time) that are unauthorised, could result in a fine from Leeds City Council. These fines are through the local council and we have no control over how they are given.

Is your child going to be absent from the Academy?

If your child is can’t make it to school for any reason, then please call 0113 248953 and pick option 1 to report your child absent.
