Learning in the Academy this week

I have been most impressed this week by the number of children who are bringing into school their curriculum homework. We have had everything from exceptional 3D stone age images, expertly written descriptions of characters, wonderful drawings of dragons and some great science experiments. Curriculum homework allows your child to practice all learning in all subject areas and hopefully allows all interests to be developed. You can do this homework as a family or your child can do this on their own. Here are just a few pictures of the great things we have seen this week.

Anti-Bullying Week and  Odd Sock day

This week we will be celebrating Anti-Bullying Week and this started on Monday with children coming to school in odd socks. Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! During this week we have also been talking to children about this important issue and ensuring we all work together to tackle and speak out if bullying happens.

School Photographs

Please can all orders for school photographs be into the office by Monday 22nd November

Your Voice Survey

Over the last 6 months, we have been working hard to ensure that the views of our parents result in action. We have increased our offer to invite more parents into school, we have revised our behaviour policy (with your help) and we have increased our communication with parents through parentmail.

It is now time to get your views again. We really value your opinion and we will work hard to act on them quickly. We want to know what you love about our school and how we can get even better so please take time to fill in this survey. Please use the link below or on the email sent to you earlier this week.

Attendance

Thank you to all those parents and carers who make sure that they bring their child to school every day on time. At Brownhill, we learn every minute of the day so even being a few minutes late can affect how much they learn. We want every child to be the best and do the best and attending school every day helps us to support them in doing this.

Remember that for every full week of attendance at school your child will get 50p to spend in our Christmas shop in December.

Family Fitness session

WOW! Our Family Fitness sessions have been a real success even on days when rain looked like it might spoil the session. Thank you to all the parents who joined us this week and last week and for all your positive comments. We have loved seeing you. Don’t forget we will be doing the same next week. Please join us again and we welcome any new parents who would like to come.

The session starts at 9:05 and finishes at 9:20.
